About us
For more than 30 years, our regional company from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has stood for uncompromising quality and new ideas in frozen fish specialities.
We produce high-quality international fish trends and the classics of fish cuisine in the best frozen freshness and focus on a balanced variety instead of a large mass of products. Our assortment, consisting of fish and seafood, includes about 70 different products from natural fillets to convenience products.
As a pioneer in fish processing, we have often discovered new fish species for the freezer and are committed to the modern use of natural resources. With the detailed indications of origin on each product, our customers can trace the path of their fish directly at any time, even without Internet access.
For more than 25 years our mission as a regional company is compromissless quality and new ideas for frozen fish products.
1990
The family business Femeg was founded in 1990 in Bargteheide near Hamburg by Günter Fülbier and has continuously developed into one of today's leading brands for frozen fish and seafood specialities.
2009
The construction of the new company headquarters in Rehna, Mecklenburg, was completed in 2009. Since then, the company has been working here with state-of-the-art production facilities that process fish from all over the world into natural fillets and sophisticated convenience products.

Fish with origin
Origin is important to us: both with regard to our international raw material, fish, and with regard to our regional processing on the Mecklenburg coast.
Today we are able to follow the entire route of every fish - from the catch on the high seas to the supermarket in the region. We want to share this knowledge with our customers. This is why we have been using our Track-on-Pack system since 2013 to declare all information and the entire fish route directly on each package. Our promise is "fish with origin". Our success is the trust of our customers.
Funding
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is supporting Femeg in a project to introduce innovative technologies into operations at the Rehna site in Mecklenburg.
With ERDF funding, the European Union provides targeted support to innovative SMEs in investing in sustainable competitiveness. Femeg is currently working on the development and introduction of new process technologies in the field of special filters for frying oils, optimisation of the freezing process and gentle sterilisation of the environment. Combined in a coordinated process, these innovative processes enable new quality standards with low energy consumption and gentle processing.
